Decision log

Decision log: record what your meetings decided

Alongside commitments, Actarium keeps a decision log: what was decided, on what basis, in which meeting – and does it still apply? That way nobody has to renegotiate the same question in the next meeting.

What belongs in a decision log

A decision in the log is a sentence you understand without context, e.g. “We start the pilot in March with two teams”. Add the basis (such as a vote or a reasoning), the meeting and the status: valid or revoked.

Decisions and commitments in one list

Decisions live in the same list as commitments but have their own view. When adding an entry, choose “Decision” instead of “Commitment”. If a decision is revoked later, it stays in the log with that status, and the entry's history shows the change.

Confidential through encryption

Decisions are often sensitive: budgets, staffing, strategy. With Actarium they are encrypted in the browser. Our server stores only ciphertext and does not know the key – even we cannot read your decisions.

How to keep the decision log

  1. Open or create a list One list per team or committee covers both commitments and decisions.
  2. Record a decision Choose “Decision” in the input field and write down what was decided. Basis and meeting can be added.
  3. Look it up in the log The “Decisions” view shows all decisions; search finds them by keyword.
  4. Revoke instead of delete When a decision no longer applies, set it to “revoked”. That way it stays visible what once applied.

Frequently asked questions

What is a decision log?

A decision log (also called a decision register) is a running list of a team's decisions: what was decided, when, on what basis and whether it still applies.

Can I take over decisions from a vote?

Yes. Decisions recorded in Votarium during the meeting can be handed over from its minutes to a Actarium list – encrypted in the browser.

Can the log be exported?

Yes, as Markdown, as CSV or as PDF via print. The export is created only in the browser and is not encrypted.
